Tips for designing and making the perfect Christmas cookies:
Ingredients:
50 dkg flour
20 dkg granulated sugar
30 dkg salted butter
Preparation:
1. Mix the sugar with the butter until foamy.
2. Add flour and with the help of the food processor/quick hand movements, knead it into a smooth dough.
3. Wrap it in plastic wrap and put it in the oven for at least 1-2 hours.
4. Remove the raw dough from the heat.
5. On a thoroughly floured surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of 2-3 millimeters and make a pattern with the rolling pin with vigorous movements.
6. Line two baking trays with parchment paper, place the biscuits on them and put them back in the oven for 10 minutes.
7. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
8. Take the baking trays out of the oven and put the cakes in to bake.
9. Bake them in 20 minutes, until they are just light.
It is recommended to roll out the dough in several portions, because it will be easier to work with smaller pieces. If you don't have salted butter at home, add approx. a teaspoon of fine grain salt. Prepared with unsalted butter, you will get an excellent basic dough, which you can freely vary with aromatic ground ingredients, such as: vanilla, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon, etc. You can also easily make a perfect chocolate biscuit as a gourmet gift: dip the non-patterned half of the biscuits into chocolate melted over steam, mixed with a little cooking oil and leave to dry on parchment paper.
